Objective of the course:

Under the Merchant Shipping (Local Vessels) (works) and Sections of the Shipping and Port Control (Works) Regulations, Person engaged in certain trade of works on board a vessel within the water of Hong kong is required to hold relevant valid certificate of training; and

A person who carries out cargo handling on board a vessel must hold a valid certificate of training in respect of ‘Shipboard Cargo Handling Basic Safety Training Course.

Course Contents:

1. Overview of the safety development in local shipboard cargo handling Industry
2. Overview of legislative provision
3. General shipboard safety
4. Safe cargo handling operation
5. Safe use of cargo handling equipment
6. Written Examination.

Validity:  

3 Years

VALIDITY: 3 YEARS (NOTE: *** “Shipboard Cargo Handling Basic Safety Training Course” Certificate can be revalidated
between six months before expiry date and three months after it expired***
